World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For instance an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Additionally, many weapons have a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of the base. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative consequences. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them can render them unusable unless you get a fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. This can boost the base defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain when upgraded and their relative values. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.
Rerolling item upgrading can be possible by pressing the green button within the item menu using the arrows that are circling. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's levels or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make a a huge difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you will get from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total and each one requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a large group of enemies in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive a full on raid with a few friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to concentrate on upgrading it for physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give the player with a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.
There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For example, splash potions now have an average duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table of potion constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. This is the same for the use of a potion in an empty cauldron. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It may be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant like a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets.
The upgrade of a trinket can be an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. You can upgrade a trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as old one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are no longer useful and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an attractive alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment that won't replace anytime soon (such as a ring or an cloak). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players should also be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player and they want to upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying the new one.
